Springfield, Virginia and Cairo, Egypt – On Wednesday, October 28th, 2023, the Agora Naguib O. Sawiris School of Business (ASB) and the Egyptian Business Angels Network (EGYBAN) announced a groundbreaking partnership. This exciting collaboration has led to the creation of the Egyptian Entrepreneurial Community Fund (EECF), a $1 million aggregate initiative dedicated to supporting and empowering emerging entrepreneurs in our MBA program. This fund will have a significant impact on our entrepreneurial community and beyond.

Aligned with our commitment to offering a well-rounded and market-focused MBA program, this $1 million fund prioritizes funding for entrepreneurs. Our MBA program immerses students in a real-world business journey where students bridge the gap between theory and practice by crafting a comprehensive business plan and pitching it at our renowned Investor Lab. This exemplifies our “cradle-to-investment” model, where they gain access to mentorship and potential investment opportunities. The exciting addition of EECF further fuels this model, providing additional financial support to turn qualified business ideas into reality.

EECF offers a diverse range of funding opportunities to our MBA graduates:

  • Two Annual Funding Prizes: Awarded to top-performing entrepreneurial projects.
  • Two Microgrants: Supporting high-potential ventures in their early stages.
  • Two Women-Led Project Grants: Promoting gender diversity in the entrepreneurial landscape.
  • Venture Capital Fund: Dedicated to providing resources for established businesses seeking to scale.
  • Angel Pre-Seed Fund: Providing initial support for promising ideas in early development.
